Hi - I’m Maria.
I’m a Senior UX/Product Designer with 8+ years of experience designing complex B2B systems in regulated and high-risk environments.
I specialize in turning messy, policy-driven processes into clear, defensible digital workflows — working closely with engineers, product owners, and subject-matter experts to design systems that people can actually rely on. My work spans the full product lifecycle, from discovery and service blueprinting to interaction design, usability testing, and system documentation.
Much of my recent work has focused on internal government platforms, where accuracy, traceability, and consistency matter more than surface-level polish. I design with the assumption that decisions may be audited, challenged, or revisited years later — and that the system should support users under that pressure.
Before moving into product design, I spent eight years working with data, research, and analytics, which continues to shape how I approach design today.
I’m particularly strong at:
identifying risk and failure points early
defining success metrics with stakeholders
using evidence — not opinion — to guide design decisions
I’m known for my ability to communicate clearly across disciplines, using storytelling and structured thinking to make complex systems understandable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Outside of work, I live in Canada and spend as much time as possible hiking. On rainy days, I’m usually watching Scandinavian thrillers or listening to music — a small but grounding counterbalance to highly structured systems work.
